Veramin is a town to the east of Tehran and the market centre for much of the surrounding tribal weaving. Kilims from this area typically use an interlocking tapestry technique that gives the motifs a distinctive ‘fuzzy’ outline.
The abrashed undyed brown background and the brighter colours of the central diamond add to the overall visual vitality.
